Dr. Eng. Sergej Gook obtained his doctorate from the Technical University of Volgograd, Russia in 2002. Since 2007, he has been working as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK), Berlin and Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM), Berlin. The focus of his scientific work is on the field of laser beam, laser hybrid and submerged arc welding of thick sheets.
