The Welding Federation (TWF-Africa) is an association of national welding societies and stakeholders of member countries in the African continent. TWF-Africa is a ‘Not for Profit’ organization incorporated in South Africa, with membership spread across Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Uganda, Libya, Mozambique, Namibia, Cameroon, Kenya, and others.
It is the continental body responsible for coordinating activities in science and application of welding and joining technologies, providing a forum for networking and knowledge exchange among scientists, researchers, industry and educators, and disseminating leading-edge information and best practices. The overall mission of TWF-Africa is to improve the science and application of welding and joining in Africa.
The industries that use welding to manufacture their products are the driving force of a modern economy. They are largely responsible for the infrastructure, capital goods, commercial products that sustain a relatively high standard of living for billions of people across the world. Welding-related industries manufacture so many things including pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, bridges, vehicles, ships, aircraft, space shuttle and various infrastructures-without which modern life would be unrecognizable.
TWF 1st Annual Assembly and Conference on Welding and Allied Processes-Blue Print Africa is aimed to bring together scientists and engineers to review and discuss advances in the development of methods and approaches on welding and its associated processes. This will promote knowledge and experience exchange and provide a forum for scientists and engineers to present their accomplishments and to develop new ideas at the highest level. Conferences have an important role to play in the technology transfer, especially in terms of the relationships to be established between the participants, and the informal exchange of ideas that this event offers. The presence of this Annual Assembly and Conference in Africa offers an opportunity that must be taken. The event is scheduled in Hybrid Format which enables both online and onsite participation. Online participation link is to be shared by end of February 2023.
